Namatjira's Granddaughters: A Watercolour painting and cultual journey for women in the company of Namatjira's Granddaughters
Into the blue creative walks, in conjunction with Many Hands Art Centre, will be running a one week creative walk in August this year for women wanting to explore and develop their artistic skills whilst exploring Namatjira country. The walk will also feature Albert's direct granddaughters Lenie Namatjira, Ivy Pareroultja and Gloria Pannka, all well established Many Hands watercolour artists. This is the first time Many Hands has been involved in this type of project before with the three ladies excited to showcase their country and skills to a wider audience.
Namatjira Play
Many Hands Art Centre has joined forces with non for profit production company BIGhART to share the story of Albert Namatjira's life with the wider Australian audience. The play will open in Alice Springs in August for two shows then move to Sydney for a full six week run. The play has not only been developed in strong consultation with Albert's direct descendents but will feature a number of his grandchildren and kinship family members on stage. The idea for the play arose when BIGhART, who produced the acclaimed play Npapartji Npapartji with Many Hands artists ELton Wirri, began to learn in detail the extraordinary story of Albert's life. The play is an excellent opportunity for all of the Many Hands artists involved. Both runs of the show in Alice Springs and Sydney will also correlate with an exhibition featuring works of artists in the play as well as showcasing emerging artists.

The fair has proven to be a successful with sales made during the events and after as well as multiple enquiries.
